Wexford under-21 manager JJ Doyle has urged his players to pick themselves up following the heart breaking defeat to Limerick in the All-Ireland final.

The Model County never really performed as Limerick marched to the title after an impressive performance by them.

"It is devastating really, they can't let this be the defining moment of their careers," Doyle told the Wexford People.

Two consecutive defeats in All-Ireland under-21 hurling finals is hard for anyone to take and Doyle admits that not performing in the game was hard to take.

"It is devastating really. Getting beaten is one thing, we didn't perform anywhere near our capabilities there. That is the most disappointing aspect of it. Listen, there is nothing we can do about it now.

"The guys seemed to be in great form in the last few weeks, trained really well. They seemed to be very much up for the game. Unfortunately every team has games like that and you just hope they don't happen on the biggest occasion."
