The new grading system for Wexford referees this year has caused many a raised eyebrow.

As part of the new system, Brendan Martin, who refereed last year's county SFC final will be only allocated intermediate matches this year.

Martin refereed the meeting of St Anne's and Gusserane last year in what was his first county final, but will not be involved in any senior matches this year.

Also only being considered for the intermediate grade are other experienced officials like Damien Donovan, Eric Molloy, Joe Kelly and Nicholas Kehoe.
