O'Rourke in confident mood

April 15, 2015

Wexford minor football manager Pat O'Rourke is confident his side can get the job done against Westmeath in the opening round of the Leinster championship on Saturday.

The Model County didn't have the best of Leinster league campaigns, but they were forced to play that without their Good Counsel contingent.

Now that they are back in the fold, O'Rourke is confident that they can push on following good preparation over the last few weeks.

Speaking to the Wexford People he said: "We may not have had a quality league but with Good Counsel's colleges involvement along with St Peter's it was difficult to have a full squad together.

"The squad has been working hard over the last number of months and with the colleges' players back we are confident of putting in a big performance.

"We have a number of excellent players. While we know very little of Westmeath no doubt they will be difficult opponents."

The match takes place at Wexford Park on Saturday afternoon. Throw in at 3pm.
