Waters' hurling switch has been "blown out of proportion"

Wexford's Daithi Waters insists he hasn't made his mind up over which code to concentrate on next year.

It was recently reported that Waters was turning his back on the footballers and throwing in his lot with the hurlers, but this has been vehemently denied by the dual star.

"That's been blown out of proportion down here," he said in the Irish Daily Star.

"I'm only going in for a (hurling) trial and a lad in the newspaper down here is after spreading awful rumours.

"Liam (Dunne) has just called me in for a trial like anyone else and a local newspaper down here ran away with it. I'm only going in for a trial, I won't be a dual player at all, that wouldn't be feasible for me.

"I'll see how I get on in the trial and at Christmas then I'll have to weigh up all of my options. I always had a passion for hurling so I'd like to give it a go before I get too old."
