'If we give a performance we will win.' That is Wexford under-21 hurling manager JJ Doyle's prediction for Saturday's All-Ireland final against Clare.

The Banner go into the match as strong favourites to retain their title, but the Model County have impressed during the campaign so far and we should be set for a cracking encounter.

Doyle knows that his charges will have to be at their best, but he is confident that if they play to their potential than the title will go back to the south east.

"If we give a performance, we will win. We are going down to Thurles to give a performance to win," Doyle stressed to the Wexford People.

"It will be all about performance and we are not going down just to give a display and be gallant losers. We don't accept that tag any longer, that's been hanging around us far too long."
