Matthew O’Hanlon says Wexford’s hurlers are buzzing after Davy Fitzgerald opted to stay on as manager.

Having been linked with the vacant Galway managerial post, the Clare man has agreed to remain on at the Model County helm for a fourth season.

“We were always confident Davy would come back to us,” O’Hanlon told The Irish Daily Star. “We have a special relationship with him – he knows how much we respect him and the feeling is mutual.

“Delighted the decision is made and we can put it to bed and look forward to 2020. All the lads are buzzing and seeing how we can improve next year. We have got scope for improvement next year, especially with Davy on board.”
