Westmeath - Waterford Away

What do we think of this one? Potentially tricky especially as conditions could be poor. Fraher Field is a fairly exposed venue. Hopefully another win but they tightened Wexford away so can't see this being as clear cut as our last two games

I see the match has been moved to Ardmore

The team could have got 7 goals yesterday. But at least they're creating the opportunities. Bad goalkeeping at the end cost us a very silly goalie. This is still a major problem position for us. Holloway was having a great game yesterday until he went odd injured, hopefully it was just a minor knock.

Correct, goalkeeper has been a major problem position for a long time. Surely Gallagher or Bryan are worth a try for a few games? Kick out strategies are a major part of the modern game. It appears we are very slow to realise this and adapt to this.

Kick outs were a major problem last year. No great improvement in the games I've been at this year.

Quinn is the best GK in the county. I wouldn't worry about a dip in form at this time of the year when you have to deal with poor conditions. Heavy wind and rain isn't a GK friend.
I saw Bryan against Maynooth and Carlow and thought his kickouts were a weakness. He needs a longer run up than Quinn to get the same distance, this makes the kick more predictable. Haven't seen enough of Gallagher to comment, but he was solid in the county final last year.
Quinn stays in for me because of his experience.

have to agree on this, byran does not get the distance at moment that quinn does and opposition will notice this and then push up on kickouts. straight away put pressure on backs. sometimes you do have to go long with kick outs or at least let opposition think you might.
both keepers can be slow at getting ball settled for kick out always allow opposition to settled, once or twice need very fast kick outs especially if opposition have lots of players committed far forward.
this might be any instruction from the side line to slow things down.
