Westmeath - Hurlers 2017

Of all draws to get..its a nightmare one..Tipp will want a point to prove and dispell any notions of rumours/camp etc and wont be taking prisoners. Also the fact its played in MIghty semple stadium will be a bonus for them too. Having said that it will be interesting to see westmeath play in the wide open expances compared to mullingar, it actually could suit them, who knows. I dont think we see the best of westmeath ever in cusack park,. Even if ye had got kilkenny ye could have given.it a right go cause kilkenny are limited now, same can be said for limerick and dublin. Its just tge worst possible draw and I hope ye play with pride and gusto because there is a lot of potential there and try and not get a bad defeat or it will set the progress back a small bit.

Tipp aren't taking anything for granted anyway lads, they've refused Westmeath's request to play the tie in Cusack Park.

Good to see we tried to get Tipp up to Mullingar, would have had big interest.

Interesting to note the difference between Tipp and Kilkenny. The Cats were drawn at home in u21 but agreed to come to Mullingar

Lad's I'd say Tipp just can't be bothered coming to Mullingar there was a lot of talk of unrest in their camp and they have a chance to show the Tipperary supporters that all is well and fine on their own patch if anyone thinks that they will be any kinder to us in Mullingar than thurles is fooling themselves , the wide open spaces of semple will cause its own problems for us , training in Mullingar the other night we had only 23 players togged some players have decided to train with there clubs the interest is gone , management is too old and spin the same killinascully/pat short rot the whole time it'll be no different on Saturday "sure they are the all Ireland champions". "Missing this lad and missing that lad" excuses for a very poor league and a complete capitulation v Offaly a hammering by tipp won't matter because the problems are there for months, A lot of the u21 should have been called in after semi final Maher , Quinn , Rabbitt , Goonery , Clavin , and Clinton for his display v laois in the last 20 minutes then we see laois planning for next year by playing 15 u21 v Carlow last weekend knowing that every game they get is gaining experience for the league and championship next year , meanwhile we continue the same old beaten path.

Disgraceful to see our county hurlers relegated yet again, without even playing a game.
