Underage AGM
We held our Underage AGM on Saturday 13th February in the Hurling Complex. There was a very good attendance on the night. Chairman Seamus Sheridan welcomed all those present and proceeded to give an account of the last years underage activities. He thanked Veronica McCormack (secretary) and George Murray(Vice Chairman) for all their hard work and support during the year. He thanked all the Underage Mentors for their efforts and dedication throughout the year and to all members who helped out with washing of jerseys throughout the year. Seamus also thanked Patrick McCabe(Adult Secretary) & Chairman Mick Macken for their help and support throughout the year.
Seamus went on to thank all who helped out in the organising and running of this year's very successful Summer Camp and made special mention to all the very kind sponsors : Sheelin Meats, McCormacks Bar, Milbrook Foods, Sean Montgomery, Tesco Castlepollard, Castlepollard Camogie Club, Checkout Shop, Green St. Pharmacy, The Veg Shop, Pauline Smyth, Morans Filling Station, Gilchrist Family, Murray Family, Sinead Sheridan, McCabe Electrical, Midland Trophies, KC Sports, Peter Curran. Franco's Takeaway for the food for our end of year presentation to the U8 & U10 Teams. To David Murphy for his very generous sponsorship of the jerseys for the U12 & U14 Teams.
The Election of Officers was then conducted and the following are the Underage officers for 2017 :- Chairman: Seamus Sheridan; Vice-Chairman: George Murray; Secretary: Veronica McCormack; Coaching Officer: Jody Murray.
Underage Training
Our U13's are entered in the Cross County League with the first match set to take place on Sat 18th Feb. We will therefore restart training for all U13's on Sat 21st January @2pm. Other match dates are Sat 4th, 18th & 26th March.
Membership
Membership for 2016 is now due : €30 for adults, €50 family, €20 for OAPs, and €10 for minors and younger. Players whose membership is not up to date are not insured to train or play with the club. Payments can be made to any of the club officers.
Pitch closed
Please note that our hurling pitch is closed until further notice due to recent upgrade work.
Bingo
Our weekly Bingo continues every Sunday night at 8.30pm in the Hurling Complex. There was no winner of the Main Jackpot of €15,000 last Sunday night. Our 2nd Jackpot of €11,600 was not won and now stands at €11,700.
Bonus Ball Game #1 :- lucky winner of €100 prize was Angela Gibbons.
Bonus Ball Game #2 :- lucky winner of €100 prize was Angela Gibbons.
Well Wishes
We wish a speedy recovery to Chris Keating, Oldcastle who is hospitalised at the moment. Chris is a very loyal supporter of our Bingo every week.
Lotto Draw
Lotto Draw took place during Bingo on Sunday night last . The numbers drawn were :- 7,10,17,22.
There was no jackpot winner. The 6 x €25 winners were:
