Junior Football Championship Final
As you may have heard around the village Multyfarnham will play Milltown in the Junior Football Championship Final this Sunday October 4th at 2PM in Cusack Park. The referee will be Pat Fox.

Minor Semi Final
Multyfarnham 5-12
Coralstown/Kinnegad 5-7

Multy Minors had a superb victory over Coralstown/Kinnegad last Saturday in Robinstown GAA grounds. A warm sunny day was the perfect setting for a brilliant display of attacking football with both sides excelling in a high scoring and exciting affair.

The game started well with Multyfarnham racing into a 1-5 to 0-0 lead thanks to some fine scores by Adam Loughrey, Mark Reynolds and a goal from Darragh O'Connor. Stephen Sweeney and Luke Nangle were proving to be more than a handful for their markers while Frank Tighe was the perfect partner for Darragh O'Connor in the full forward line. The forwards were working well with the ample amount of ball being sent in from the hard working midfield pair of Colm Hogan and Mark Reynolds. Both lads fielded beautifully all day long and were very positive with the running game, carrying the ball forward on numerous occasions.
The backs had a hard day of it but it's a testament to their willingness to work hard and their mental toughness that they managed to get to grips with their opponents. The Kinnegad forwards worked hard to get back into the game and thanks to a couple of goals the score at halftime was a respectable 2-8 to 3-3 in favour of Multy.
Multy had the wind in the first half so the second was always going to be a tougher occasion. In the end it was the substitute's bench which got the game over the line for our lads. Aran Whelan, Sean Rock, Cian Yourell and Laurence Monaghan came off the bench and helped to settle the game. Whelan got a fine goal and Rock got in some very important steals which turned the tide indefinitely on Kinnegad.
Tommy McGivney, Paddy Power, Ciaran Boyce, Steven Donoghue and Andrew Hogan worked hard as unit in defence. Craig Sweeney had to pull off some fine saves to ensure Multy stayed in the game.
All subs on the day were brilliant, not only those who got playing but also the lads who didn't. Their positivity and support played a big part in getting us one step closer to a championship. We need to see everybody down at training this Thursday in Multy. There's a bit of work to be done yet.
