THIS WEEKS FIXTURES
Well we've now reached the business end of the season and all roads lead to Cusack Park next Saturday for the County Senior Hurling Championship Semi- Finals. Raharney take on Lough Lene Gaels in the second Semi-Final at 4.45pm. The Club would ask for everyone to get behind the lads and show them your support on the day. It goes without saying that the lads do really appreciate the support shown by everyone throughout the year and are asking once again for their "16th Man" to put on a show of force on next Saturday.

Also the Club would like to wish the very best of luck to Raharney Camogie Club in their County Final, also against Lough Lene Gaels, next Saturday at 1.00pm in Cusack Park. Best of luck girls and 'BRING IT HOME TO RAHARNEY!!!!".

MATTIE JOE GREVILLE TOURNAMENT

Last Sunday, 27/09/2015, saw the holding of the annual "Mattie Joe Greville Tournament" for under 10 hurlers, by Raharney Hurling Club. What a great day was had, by all who took part and attended. It's safe to say that the future of hurling in the county is safe, going by the fantastic display of skills on exhibition, by all the wonderfully talented hurlers who took part. The club would like to extend our sincere thanks to Mattie Joe for his long and continued support of this tournament and as a result his support of underage hurling in our community and beyond. Also we would like to thank the visiting teams of Brownstown, Dunderry, Tullamore and Turin. Raharney were the victors on the day, winning the cup, with Turin winning the big shield and Dunderry taking the small shield. Finally thank you to all of the organisers, coaches, volunteers and parents who also helped make the day such a success.

BE A PART OF JORISTOWN

Raharney Hurling Club is delighted to announce our new "BE A PART OF JORISTOWN" scheme. The scheme will allow our members and patrons the opportunity to have their family name linked with Joristown Park for evermore.

How does it work?

The Club is selling "Metal Plates" which will carry an inscription of your family name and address and which in turn will then be fixed permanently to the fence, which surrounds the pitch in Joristown Park. There will be three price categories available, €70, €80 and €100. Allocation of positions of each plate will be on a first come first served basis. A sample of the plate and pitch allocations/prices is available to view in Declan Weir's shop in Raharney village and on our Facebook Page. Orders for the plates can be placed with Declan or any Committee member.

This is a great opportunity for everyone to show their support of our local Hurling Club, not just for now but for always!

HURL AND HELMET COLLECTION

One of the main community functions of the Club is to provide training/coaching in a large number of schools in our local and wider area. The Club's aim in doing so is to introduce as many young people to our games and in doing so secure the long-term future of our Club. However one of the main obstacles to introducing young kids to our game is the cost involved for parents towards new Hurls & Helmets, especially when they are not sure if their child will continue to play the game long term. To this end the Club are sending out an appeal to anyone who may have any old/2nd hand Hurls or Helmets lying around and which they would like to donate to the Club. In doing so you could help us greatly in encouraging young kids to become more involved in our game long-term. If anyone has any old/2nd hand Hurls Helmets that they would like to donate to the Club you can leave them with Declan Weir in Weir's shop in the village. Thanking you in advance.

NEW CLUB WALKING TRACK

Club membership is now available for our new walking track, in Joristown. Annual Membership is €20 and can be paid to any Club Committee member or you may pay to Declan Weir in Weir's Shop. Use of the walking track is strictly for members only and membership must be paid for insurance purposes.
