CONGRATULATIONS

Well done to Edel Conaty on her huge All Ireland win with Westmeath Under 16 camogie squad on Saturday last.

Congratulations also to Philip Smyth and Ciara Rigney who celebrated their nuptials on Friday last. May they have long and happy lives together.

UNDER 6'S

The under 6 squad lined out for training last Saturday morning and enjoyed the last Saturday before school opening on Monday. The thoughts of school didn't dampen the spirits and a fun filled morning was has by all.
We wish you all well especially those who are starting school for the first time and look forward to another training on Saturday at 10.30am

UNDER 8's

An under 8 blitz takes place on Saturday 5th September in Shandonagh at 11.00am. All players are to be there for 10.45am.

UNDER 10 BOYS

Thanks to all our players, parents and coaches for a great season. We played in 9 blitzes and played superbly in all. We're hoping to have a match on Wednesday 6.30pm, 2nd September, followed by a small party upstairs afterwards to celebrate the season. A group text will confirm all later on in the week.

UNDER 12 GIRLS

Our Under 12 girls travelled to Caulry last Thursday in the quarter final of the championship. This was a thrilling match with end to end football. Our girls put in a great peformance and although they scored an impressive 7 points ended up losing by a margin of 8 points. I would like to thank the girls for all the hard work and effort that they put in all year at training. I know there will be more success in the future for this bunch of girls provided they keep up their committment to the sport. Their coaches, Aishling, Gordon, Charlotte and Frank would like to extend a great big THANK YOU to the girls for their efforts this season.  Team Sarah Fallon, Aishling Casey, Orla Kelly (Captain ), Emily Ganley, Aine Hayden, Rebecca Maguire, Sophie Treanor, Kelly Nagle, Emily Fallon, Sarah Fay, Katie Conlon, Danagh Nagle, Ella Carey, Michele Lynn, Tara Dalton, Aine Cole, and Aoibhinn McDonald.

UNDER 14 GIRLS

OUR Under 14 girls travelled to Delvin / St Pauls in the quarter final of the championship last Saturday. This was a good run out for the girls against a much stronger team. The girls battled well but were beaten on the day by a better team on the day. Our squad consisted of the following stalwarts: Sarah Fallon Aoife Gavigan (captain), Anna Fallon , Orla Kelly, Ella Carey, Sarah O'Brien, Danagh Nagle, Kelly Nagle, Aine Hayden, Aoife Ganley, Roisin Maguire, Emily Ganley, Cait Bates, Tara Dalton, Rebecca Maguire, Eva McGuire, Sophie Treanor, and Emma Fry.

The club would like to thank most sincerely the teams and coaches for all their efforts throughout the season.

SHANDONAGH MINORS QUALIFY FOR QUARTER FINALS.

Following two wins in the past week Shandonagh minors have qualified for the quarter finals of the Westmeath Division 1A County Championship. A win over Millmore Gaels at home on Wednesday August 26th followed by a win away to Kilbeggan Shamrocks on Sunday 30th saw the team qualify in 2nd place in the group. Both games were hard fought with Shandonagh putting in strong second half performances in each game. The lads beat Millmore Gaels by 3-11 to 1-9 and Kilbeggan by 3-19 to 5-8. A big effort will be required to prepare for the quarter finals on Saturday September 12th. The draw will not be made until later this week. Well done to the lads on two whole hearted displays!

SEMI FINAL AND QUARTER FINAL PREPARATIONS

As we go to press Ladies Junior Championship Semi final and Men's Intermediate Quarter final preparations continue apace. The Ladies take on The Downs in Kinnegad on Monday evening at 7.00pm.

Our Men's Intermediate Football squad take on Rosemount in the Intermediate Championship Quarter Final on Sunday evening at 5.15pm in Cusack Park.

Support for all is imperative as we face into the business end of the season.

LOTTO RESULTS

The Shandonagh Lotto numbers drawn on 27th August 2015 were 2, 21, 26 & 27. There was no jackpot winner. Mick Penrose Snr won the €100. Thank you for your support. The jackpot now stands at €5,000.00
