St Marys Rochfortbridge club notes

July 27, 2015

U 14 championship
Rosemount vs St.Marys.
Our lads made the trip to rosemount to take on them in our first game in this division. With holidays and injurys we had to call upon  of u 12,s so we could fullfill this fixture. We started well in the game and really put it up to rosemount in the early stages of the game. The game was played in awful weather conditions and really made it hard for both sides. Both sides were defending well in the first half and not over committing in the first period.Rosemount were ahead by a few points at the break. The second half started back and it was rosemount that got the perfect start rolling off the next few scores to put more distance between them.St.Marys really never got into the second half as they were under alot of pressure and making just coming up short.St.Marys lost out in the end but the lads will regroup for next thursdays game at home.

u 10 Blitz
St.Marys made the long trip to castletown, finea to take part in the blitz there.St.Marys took on mullingar shamrocks in both games and really put in a good shift with some brilliant team play.Players were really finding conditions hard to handy with the grass at extreme length for football. Our lads really were playing well and as a unit. These blitzes are a great way to look back at the way our teams are playing so far.well done lads, keep the hard work going.
