Ballinagore GAA Notes

July 06, 2015

Football News
It was a quiet week on the football front with no games at adult or juvenile level. There are no adult fixtures this week either. Our U10's are playing a blitz in Ballynacarrigy on Tuesday evening at 7pm. Our minors are fixed to play Athlone on Friday evening in Athlone in the league at 19:30. Our U8's are hosting a blitz on the same evening in Ballinagore at 18:30. There may be a U14 championship game fixed for this week but this fixture has to be finalised. It will be confirmed by text. Intermediate training schedule for the week will be notified by text.

Rounders Championship
Our Rounders team were in action on Sunday against Greenhills of Walkinstown in Tymon Park. On the day we were defeated by our more experienced opponents. We will have a full match report next week. Training continues on Wednesday evenings at 8pm.

Building Works
We are very close to commencing work on our new gym with the paperwork finally close to an end. We expect work to commence in the next week or two. While the building site itself will be closed off, we would ask all patrons and visitors to our grounds to exercise caution while entering and exiting the grounds. Help will be required at various stages of the works and we will be very appreciative of your support as the end result will be a major new addition to the club and our community.

Club Lotto
Please continue to support our club lotto. We had another match 3 winner this week with Cathy Morley picking three lucky numbers. The winning numbers were 8, 12, 19 and 27. Next weeks jackpot is now €12,380.

Best of Luck Westmeath
All roads lead to Croke Park on Sunday as we take on Dublin in the Leinster Football Final. We want to wish the Westmeath team and all involved the very best of luck as they try to overcome the Dubs to win a second Leinster title for the county.

Good News for Foodies
We are delighted to hear that you can now dine locally at the weekends with food being served in Mahons bar and lounge. Under head chef, Myles Quinn, they have put together a lovely menu which is served from 5.30pm to 9.30 on Saturday and from 12.30pm to 5pm on Sunday. Sunday was their first day, business was brisk and the reports were great - nothing strange there as we well know with the gourmet BBQ's we have been treated to by Myles in the past. Best of luck to all and help spread the word!

Sympathy
The club extends its deepest sympathy to Paddy Killard and family, formerly of Cloneyheigue and former Ballinagore footballer, on the sudden passing of his wife Brenda. May she Rest in Peace.
