Tang v Garrycastle

Tang entertained Garrycastle last Tuesday evening in the Division 2 League. In excellent conditions for football Tang got off to a fine start opening with points through Aidan Burke, John Rock and Trevor English. However Garrycastle began to get a strangle hold on the game and responded with a couple a points and soon grabbed a goal to take a lead. Tang responded through further points through the boot of Aidan Burke, and Martin and John Rock. Garrycastle responded with three more points of their own to lead by 1-6 to 8 points.

Tang came out in the second half with more vigour and soon began to assert their dominance. A brace of points each from Martin Rock and Aidan Burke allowed Tang to open up a sizable lead. A fine point from Fergus Farrell moved Tang further ahead before Garrycastle clawed their way back into the game with a goal. Tang steadied the ship with fine defending from Dean Reddin and Robert English coupled with a fine save from Michael Galvin kept Garrycastle at bay. More points from Martin and John Rock moved Tang further ahead again. Tang finally sealed the two points with well taken scores from Niall Neary and Trevor English. The game finished with a score line of 20 points to 2-8.

Overall, this was a good second half performance which moves us top of the league with just two rounds left in the league.
