Moate All Whites GAA club notes

April 13, 2015

Moate All Whites took on the St Lomans  in a division 3 League match on Sunday last and lost on a score of 0-15 to 0-09.  The team that started for Moate was A Ryan, A Claffey, D Buckley, C Claffey, R Conway, R Gorman, B Arigho, J Madden, R Cunningham, E Kelly, Gareth Muray, C Sheirdan, D Calffey, N Adamson, and C Bradley.  Moate were short a few of our regular team and that inexperience was the difference on Sunday.  Although we came within 1 point of Lomans with 20 minutes to go, we just didn't have enough firepower to put them away.  In saying all that we must give credit to the young player who stepped in on the day and acquitted themselves well against a strong Lomans team.  Scorers on the day for Moate were N Adamson 0-5, C Bradley 0-2, R Gorman 0-1 and R Conway 0-1.  In underage football our u16s played The Downes last Wed eve away. In what was a one sided game the hosts came away with the victory.

Our u10 team played in Cusack park last Wednesday eve also and all the players had a great evening playing in HQ. Well done to all the mentors who helped make the evening a memorable one for all involved. Our Minor team played Rosemount/Castledaly on Sunday evening last in a challenge game in Rosemount.   In what was a very entertaining game both teams never gave an inch to each other. Moate won two penalties in the first ten minutes and this was a lead that Moate built on for the remainder of the game. At full time Moate had a cushion of nine points.  This was a good work out for the team and indeed will help the team build for the games ahead.  Best wishes to our u14 player Philip King who injured his wrist last week and will be out of action for a while. Get well soon Philip.  On Saturday April 18th Moate U-8 will take part in the first Go-Games of the year.  The Games will be held in Caulry GAA pitch at 10.30am.
