St Josephs GAA Notes

March 02, 2015

Division 6 League:
St Josephs were due to play The Downs in our opening game of the league at The Downs on Sunday 1st March but the game was abandoned due to heavy snow at half time. Yes, Heavy Snow! It was a bit surreal for the beginning of March but it was the only course of action open to all as it had become very dangerous and visability was down to just a few feet. At the time, the score stood at 1-4 to 1-1 in favour of The Downs. The game will have to be re fixed for a different date.
Presentation to All Ireland Scór Winners:
Presentation to All Ireland Scór Winners 2014 on Saturday 14 March. The Presentation will be at Mount Druid Castletown Geoghegan and with music, food and plenty of craic to be had, we look forward to seeing all our football, scór and supporters to come along and celebrate our club. Who knows, maybe the Leiriu from last year might be persuaded to perform their act on the night with a bit of encouragement. Admission on the night is €10.

Leinster Scór Semi Final:
The Club's Ballad Group will represent Westmeath in The Leinster Scór semi final on Sunday 8th March in The Downs GAA Centre. We wish Deborah,Trevor,Anne,Ciaran and Deirdre the very best of luck as they aim to reach the Leinster final on Sunday 29th March.

Lotto Jackpot €6400:
Our next Lotto draw is on Sunday 8th March in The Beech Tree Streamstown at 9-00pm. Tickets on sale in The Beech Tree, Ryans Horseleap and Streamstown Post Office and from committee members. The Jackpot is substantial so don't regret not buying a ticket. Cost is €2 per ticket or three tickets for €5.

Fun Run:
Following on from two successful Fun Run's held last year, St Josephs GAA are holding the first one of this year on Easter Sunday which is 5th April 2015.  Entry fee will be €10 and the race course will be from Horseleap to Streamstown. More details to follow in coming weeks.

Underage Registration:
Underage registration for the Kilbeggan/St Josephs Boys & Girls clubs took place in the Mercy Secondary school Kilbeggan on Friday 27th February. By all accounts it was a great success and we look forward to a positive year on the playing fields for all our underage teams.
