St Lomans Mullingar 1.09 Mullingar Shamrocks 1.10
St Lomans suffered defeat in the semi final replay by the narrowest of margins in Cusack Park on a sunny Sunday afternoon last. The game was played with the highest intensity and could have gone either way right up to the final whistle.
Donal Donoghue opened the scoring for Shamrocks with a point in the opening minute. John Heslin gave St Lomans the lead with two points, one a converted free after Gerry Grehan had been fouled and the other created by a wonderful Paul Sharry run. Lorcan Smyth levelled the game on the ninth minute mark. Some great defending resulted in neither team scoring again until the twentieth minute when John Heslin pointed a free. Shane Dempsey and Kelvin Reilly points put daylight between the sides before a Ciaran Curley goal and Simon Quinn point left Shamrocks in front at the break.
St Lomans made the perfect start to the second half when John Heslin won the ball in the box and he layed it off to Kelvin Reilly who buried it to the roof of the net. Lorcan Smyth pointed a free before an excellent curled point from Paul Sharry and a John Heslin free extended the blues lead to three points. Shamrocks finished the game stronger and five unanswered scores gave them a two point lead as the game entered injury time. St Lomans added another point before the final whistle but it was Shamrocks who finished winners by a single score.
The result brings an end to our championship season. The club wishes to thank the players for their wonderful commitment as always. Special thanks to manager Declan Rowley for his efforts over the last two years most notably winning our first championship in fifty years and also to his selectors James Davitt, Robbie Kenny and Aidan Canning (2013). Finally thanks to the kit men Frank Daly and Christy Martin.

Strictly Come Dancing
There is a "Strictly Come Dancing" meeting in the clubhouse next Friday October 17th at 8pm for all dancers taking part in the show. All dancers have been confirmed by text/phone but limited places are available for any men interested in a new challenge!!!! Lotto
There was no jackpot winner from the lotto draw on October 8th. The numbers drawn were 3,16,23,25. Winners of €50 each were WM Bannon, Liam Finnan, Ellen Plunkett & Joe Carroll. Next week's jackpot will be €7,000.
