U10 Boys
Last Thursday evening saw the lads take part in the B final of the Tormeys Clann na nGael against Ballinalsoe. Played under lights in front of a large and vocal set of supporters, the games certainly lived up to the expectations. All the skills honed during the long summer season were on display by both teams in what was a terrific advertisement for underage football. Blocking, tackling and high fielding were brilliantly displayed by both sides in addition to some superb score taking. Both the U9 and the u10 games were neck and neck throughout but when the referees sounded the whistle for the last time, Ballinasloe had edged both games by narrow margins. As was mentioned in the clubhouse afterwards, both games could have gone either way and it was to the credit of all involved that at the final whistle both sets of players commended each other in true sporting fashion. Congratulations to Ballinasloe on their win and well done to our lads for a great display. The management team were proud of each and every one of them. Much credit must go to Tony Henry and the lads in Clann for running an excellent competition. For the record, the panel was :
