Tyrrellspass GAA club notes

SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP  
    

Tyrrellspass were knocked out of the senior championship last Wednesday evening by Mullingar Shamrocks .  This was a game of two contrasting half, in the first half Tyrrellspass were in complete controle with our defence holding Mullingar to four points and the forwards scoring a goal and nine points the goal coming from a converted penalty by Ger Egan.  Mullingar made a few changes at half time and they started putting high balls in on top of our fullback line and were rewarded with goals in the 35m,39m and 52m.  Tyrrellspass could only manage five points in the second half and eventually lost on a scoreline of Tyrrellspass 1-14 to Mullingar Shamrocks 3-11.  Team; Darren Quinn, Ray Sheridan, Jamie Gonoud 0-1, Eoghan O'Neill, David Jessop, Brian Slevin, Philip Sheridan, Dean McNicholas 0-1, Ger Egan 1-5, David Gaye, David Glennon 0-1, Gavin Hoey, Conor Slevin, Martin Flanagan, Denis Glennon 0-3, Subs ; Shane Arthur 0-1 rep Brian Slevin 15m, Ben Gavin 0-1 rep Gavin Hoey 43m, Ciarian Daly 0-1 rep David Jessop 45m,  Valentinas Sizychas rep David Gaye 43m.   

UNDERAGE 

The under 16 team were knocked out of the Championship last Monday evening by Kinnegad.With both teams level at half time Kinnegad eventually went on to win on a score line of Tyrrellspass 1-12 to Kinnegad 4-10. Team; Shane Farrell, Kieran Corcoran, Adam Flanagan,  Conan Feery, Thomas Ryan, Colm Sheeran, Nigel Harte, Cormac Rigney, Aidan Martin, Kieran Conroy, Nathan Cooney, Dillon Donoghue, James O'Connor, Jack Gallagher, Fergal Walsh, Jack Langan, William Feery.   

The under 14 team qualified for the Semifinal of the Championship with a good win over St Malachys/Ballinagore last Thursday evening.  This was another very good game of football with some excellent scores taken on both sides.  Tyrrellspass eventually won on a scoreline of Tyrrellspass 7-12 to StMalachys/Ballinagore 5-9. Team; Jake Haverty, Colm Sheeran, Jack Langan, Darren Hogan, Jamie Corcoran, Craig Coyne, William Feery, Alex Halpin, Thomas Ryan, Garry Farrell, Adam Flanagan, Sean Dowdall, Owen McIntyre, Evan Connell, Owen Martin, Dean Harte, James McGiveran, Kean Alford, Nathan Fox.  We would like to wish Nigel Harte and Craig Coyne a speedy recovery after both players suffered shoulder injuries .

UNDERAGE RAFFLE 

Tyrrellspass underage will be holding a raffle for 2 tickets to the All Ireland Hurling Final Replay.  As before tickets are €2 or 3 for €5. Tickets are available from various outlets.
