St Marys Rochfortbridge GAA club notes

September 15, 2014

U 14 Championship,
Our U14s travelled to ballycomoyle last Thursday in the final group game. St.Marys were really up for this game from the word go and were on top straight away.We seen some fine individual play and most importantly we seen some great team work,in the first half our midfield and forwards were on fire and were putting over some excellent scores. We were leading at the break and we expected ballycomoyle to come out in the second half at us which they did,but our defence was imense and really stood up to everything through at them and reduced ballycomoyle to 2 points from play in the whole game. This was a serious effort by St.Marys in this game and we ran out winners st.marys 3-09 Ballycomoyle. 0-7.

u 12,s
Jim McHugh Memorial tournament 2014.
St.Marys made the trip to Garrycastle(the organising team) last tuesday for the opening game of the tournament,The game got going in glorious sunshine and Garrycastle were first out of the blocks and they were really pilling on the pressure in the first half.we(st.marys) were getting chances but just not taking them on the scoreboard in the first half,we seen a right good battle in the middle of the field and it was a joy to watch the fielding of both teams,Garry castle were ahead at the break and st.marys had to regroup and make some changes which they did and they started the second half alot better and really gave it everything in the second half, our defensive play was brilliant in this half and our forwards were making better use of the ball and taking some brilliant scores, but credit Garrycastle they kept plugging away at the scoreboard and ran out winners in this game, alot of possitives can be taken from this game.
