JFC semi-final v Multy

A place in the JFC final on Sunday, October 5 is what will be at stake when we meet Multyfarnham in Shandonagh next Saturday at 3.15pm.

Following our dramatic 5-11 to 2-11 comeback victory over St. Loman's in the quarter-final, hopes are high that we can reach our second final in three years.  But we face formidable opponents in Multy, who have made great strides in recent years and have already beaten us (2-5 to 1-6) in the group stages of the championship.

They also drew with us in a fiercely contested Division 3 league clash in Kilbeggan in May, so it's going to take a big effort from everyone if it's to be a case of third time lucky.

Our game will be preceded by the meeting of Moate All-Whites and St. Paul's in the other semi-final at 1.45pm.

Ballinagore

Well done to our neighbours Ballinagore who edged out Mullingar Shamrocks in Moate last Sunday to retain their intermediate status. They truly are the great survivors!

Eugene Scally

Congratulations to former Kilbeggan and Westmeath footballer Eugene Scally on the opening of his in-store gluten-free bakery at his SuperValu Store in Clonakilty, Co. Cork recently. The bakery was officially opened by former Miss World Rosanna Davidson and has been receiving rave reviews in the national media.
