GOLF CLASSIC
Blessed by the weather and with the time sheet full for the day we had a very successful outing on Saturday in Moate Golf Club which was in pristine condition as ever. The Club would like to sincerely thank all Sponsors, all those who played and our own organisers for all contributing to a very enjoyably day which was suitably concluded later on that evening with the presentation in Dons.
UNDERAGE
On Saturday morning last, our u8s played Caulry and Garrycastle in the last round of the u8 blitz in Tang. In the first game v Caulry we were the stronger of the 2 teams with our back line holding off any attack which came into their area. Our midfield dominated for most parts of the game and with the forwards picking off some fine scores when the ball came their way.
In the second game v Garrycastle, it was a much closer game with both sides giving nothing away. Garrycastle took an early lead but credit to Moate who fought back to draw level at half hime. The second half was much the same with both sides contesting for every ball with all their might. As the half wore on both sides could not be seperated and a draw was a fair result in the end.
Team: B Coyne, S Shaughnessy, R Costello, J Mitchell, C Whitney,  J O Brien, A Dolan, D Delaney, T Heavin, F Rosney, C Brady.
Our U10s played Caulry on Sunday morning at home. This was a lovely game to watch with some lovely passing and scoring  from both sides.  As the game went on our lads got stronger and ran out winners at the end.. .
Under 12 Feile versus Castledaly
Last Wednesday evening our u 12's played Castledaly in Moate in the 13 a side format. Moate started well and moved the ball with speed and accuracy to ensure a few early scores. Castledaly battled hard with determination and teamwork, but at the end of the match , Moate were they strongest team and won the game
Under 12 Challenge versus Kinnegad
Our under 12's competed against Kinnegad on a glorious Sunday morning on our new pitch. As the sun beamed down the Kinnegad panel of 28 players arrived on a stopover game en route to Galway
The first half was well balanced as both teams competed in a tough encounter particularly in midfield, After going 2 goals behind after ten minutes , the lad's found their form and took some fantastic point scoring opportunities as well as scoring two great goals. At the break Moate led by two points, but the second half turned out to be a tougher encounter with Kinnegad increasing their goal tally.
A few points was the difference at the end of the match in favour of Kinnegad, but a good experience for our players who were on a run of good results over the last few weeks
