Former Leinster club champions Garrycastle must beat St Malachy's in a play-off to get through to the quarterfinals of this year's SFC.

The South Westmeath side kept their hopes of a place in the knockout stages very much alive with a comfortable win over a previously unbeaten Coralstown/Kinnegad side last weekend.

Throw in the fact that St Malachy's were beaten by Tyrrellspass in their last game and it forces a play-off between them and Garrycastle.

The Castletown-Geoghegan based club have already beaten Dessie Dolan Snr's charges in an earlier round of the group stages, but with Dessie Dolan jnr back in action, the former champions will be a different proposition this time around.
