Senior Championship
St Lomans Mullingar 4.15 Maryland 2.09
St Lomans finished their championship group in style with a high scoring win over Maryland in Moate on Saturday evening last.
Garrett Hickey and Callum Mc Cormack traded a point each in the opening minutes. Hickey soon turned provider when his pass found its way to David Windsor who finished to the net. Eoin Price got his name on the score sheet with a point but Maryland responded with two points and a Callum Mc Cormack goal. St Lomans upped their game in the second quarter and some fine moves resulted in scores. David Morgan impressed throughout the half and rattled in two goals with one of these an excellent finish from a Kelvin Reilly pass struck with the outside of the boot. David Martin got a goal for Maryland either side of Morgan's scores but St Lomans still had a five point lead at the break.
St Lomans made a clinical start to the second half with Garrett Hickey registering a goal and two points with these scores followed by Conor O Donoghue and Eoin Price points. Maryland battled back into the game with four unanswered points but St Lomans finished the game strongly and added four points to finish comfortable winners.

Gerry Farrell, Cormac Corroon(2) and Pat Walsh all added scores to turn the advantage in St Lomans favour.  Brian Murphy and Jonathon Plunkett worked hard in the centre of the park while half backs Timmy Murphy and Jack Mc Grath set up the supply to the forwards. The home side battled back into the game but points from Gerry Farrell and Conor Matthews ensured a narrow advantage for the blues at half time.
Michael Gleeson kicked over two points early in the second half but it was Tubberclair who started the half better and some impressive scores gave them the lead. Senan Russell was moved to centre back and one solo run resulted in a fine point. U10 Boys
The U10 boys had another very busy week! First up on Tuesday was an entertaining high scoring league match against Rochfortbridge! The boys were well ahead at half time but Rochfortbridge regrouped and won by a point in the end!

On Saturday the boys attended 2 blitzes playing eight matches against opposition from six counties and three provinces.

First up were the 2005 boys who played Kilbeggan, Killucan and Mullingar Shamrocks in a local blitz!
In the afternoon the 2004 boys played a 32 team blitz in Celbridge - they topped a group including Celbridge, An Riocht (Co Down) and Ballymun Kickhams before winning a knockout game against Kilmurray Ibrickane (Co Clare). The boys finally bowed out in the quarter finals against the eventual winners Crossmaglen - all the boys did St Lomans proud - thanks to the coaches Alan, Robbie, Jonathan and John for preparing the boys so well
