O'Brien not getting carried away

August 21, 2014

Castletown-Geoghegan manager Pat O'Brien is keeping his feet firmly on the ground following their win over Clonkill last weekend.

The defending champions produced an impressive display to remain unbeaten in the campaign and inflict a second defeat on one of their main rivals. The win was even more impressive with the fact that the Black and Ambers were missing a few key players.

However, O'Brien stressed to the Westmeath Examiner that they have nothing won yet as the group stages reach the business end of matters.

O'Brien said: "It was great to win as we haven't beaten Clonkill in a championship match in maybe four years, but it is still only August. There is a lot of hurling between here and October, but we'll be in the shake-up and that's where we want to be,."
