Ballinagore GAA Notes

July 28, 2014
Intermediate Football Championship
Ballinagore 1-10 Ballymore 1-13
We faced Ballymore in the third round of this years championship last Sunday afternoon in Rochfortbridge. Despite going a goal behind in the first minute, we recovered well and after a great first half performance, we led by 1-08 to 1-04 at half time. Unfortunately we could not maintain our momentum and only recorded two two points in a disappointing second half performance and went down by three in the end. We now need to regroup and focus on the Ballynacargy game which is in a fortnights time. With both sides underperforming and only a point seperating us in the table, this game now becomes a vital clash in the closing stages of the group. Team : Cathal Daly, Robert Gannon, Marty Linnane, James Sheerin, Kieran Deegan, Michael Ennis, Ciaran Carey, Frankie Deegan, Rory Tynan, Cathal Ennis, Dan Gavin, Paul Maloney, Brandon Carey, Cormac Quinn, Tommy McDaniel. Subs used : Niall Kelly, Paddy Ennis. Rest of Panel: Ian Seery, Cathal Tynan, Willie Gavin, Brian Sheerin, Declan Claffey, David Slevin.

Next Fundraiser - Ballinagore GAA Plop Drop

Our next fundraiser is fixed for Saturday 30th August in the Bodhrán Bar. Tickets will be distributed soon to players, members & supporters. 625 tickets will go out, each representing a square on our field. Tickets will be in books of 10 and will cost just €5 each. We hope everyone can sell a book or as much of a book as possible. Before the evening a cow will be let loose on our pitch and whichever square she favours, the winning ticketholder will get a grand prize of €500. There will also be runners up prizes for surrounding squares (and if anyone can acquire sponsors prizes for these please let us know). On the evening of the 30th we will have the squares & owners on display and footage of the crucial 'drop'. Music will be by Emerald Entertainment and barbeque will be provided also. One for the diaries before we say goodbye to the Summer!
