Westmeath and Clonkill forward Brendan Murtagh has admitted that he is willing to return to the county fold.

Murtagh withdrew from the squad this year along with other players from the club and cited to the Westmeath Examiner that a difference of opinion with the county management team was the main reason for his withdrawal.

However, having starred in last Saturday' Leinster SHL Division One final win over Wexford's Buffers Alley, Murtagh revealed that he a return to the county colours next year was a distinct possibility.

"I would say so," was the response Murtagh gave when asked was a return to the county set up a possibility. "I loved my county hurling. I always did.

"Just things didn't work out for a lot of lads with the management this year. I said I'd give it a break, but if I'm called again next year, I'll be back."
