Ballymore GAA Notes

April 14, 2014
A village mourns
Ballymore was plunged into sadness last weekend with the news that one of Ballymore's and indeed the counties stars was taken from us far too early. Gerry Murtagh was a rock within the Ballymore intermediate championship winning team in 1972 and was the 'go to man' when a point was needed at a crucial time in a game. Gerry was only 59 and had been living in England for a number of years. He was unfortunately taken ill whilst back in Ireland a few weeks ago from which he was not to recover. The club would like to offer their sincerest condolences to his family and friends, may he rest in peace.
