Senior league
We took on Castlepollard in the first round of this year's league in Castlepollard recently. The home side took the spoils on this occasion mainly due to a first half performance that saw them take a six point lead into the break. We improved on the restart but couldn't manufacture the all-important goal that could've propelled us to victory. Final score Castlepollard 0-12 Crookedwood 0-6. We had a more fruitful outing on Sunday morning last when we defeated Lough Lene Gaels by four points in The Wood. The foundation for victory was paved in the first half when playing against a stiff breeze we led by four at the break. Irish night.
Thanks to all who supported our Irish night on St.Patricks eve and to all who sponsored prizes for the raffle. Thanks to Matt & Brian Murray for the use of their premises.

White Collar Boxing
Easter Sunday has been confirmed as the date for our first major fundraiser of the year, with the venue being the Greville Arms Hotel. Boxing nights have become very popular with GAA clubs and with clubmen from all over the county in training it promises to be a great night out. Tickets will be on sale soon.

Condolences
Crookedwood GAA offers its condolences to the Kane and Donoghue families on their recent bereavements. We also offer our sincerest condolences to David Nolan and family on their sad loss.

Membership
All members are reminded that membership fees for the coming year are now due, it is vital that all membership is paid in a timely manner as all fees will be used to register all our club teams for the 2014 competitions. Players are asked to forward their fee to their respective mentor. Joint registrars Gerry Butler or Hugh O Reilly (or any committee member) can be contacted for more details. We are also introducing a social membership for people who wish to use our new walkway. Committee members must pay their fees as soon as possible. Players at all grades are reminded that no pay means no play due to insurance reasons.
