Underage football continues this Friday evening at the usual slot 6:30-7:30. The club shop will also be open for the duration of training.

Minor Quarter Final

Good luck to the lads who host Caulry this Thursday August 9th in the division one championship quarter final. Throw in at KMP is 7pm.

Senior Championship

We got our first win of this year's Championship last Sunday evening in Cusack Park against our neighbours Kilucan. Both teams struggled for any constant patterns of play in the first half with The Downs shading the advantage on the scoreboard 0-07 to 0-04. The second half took off where the first ended with both teams exchanging scores. The Downs struggled to pull away from there opponents until the closing stages when Niall Mitchell found Adam Loughlin with an excellent pass for Loughlin to find the corner of the net. Moments later Mitchell and Loughlin again linked up for The Downs second goal. Full Time 2-15 to 0-08. The Downs will now face Coralstown/Kinnegad in the next round on Friday the 17th in Cusack Park.

 

Family Day

We will host a family day on Sunday the 9th of September to commemorate our 125 years. It will be a fun filled day with novelty games for all ages.
