U14 Footballers Win League Title

Lilliput Gaels 1-08  Kilbeggan/St. Jospeh's 1-06

Our U14 footballers travelled to Athlone last Wednesday evening to take on our local rivals, Kilbeggan/St Joseph's, in the Division 2 League Final. We knew it would be a close encounter and this proved to be the case. In very wet and windy conditions, both teams put in huge performance over the hour, however Lilliput Gaels' hard work and determination brought us to victory in the end. This talented group of hard-working young players now have the Feile to look forward to on the 29th and 30th of June. Well done to the team and their mentors on this magnificent achievement, which sees our U14 teams over the last three years win silverware for our juvenile club, with hopefully more to come as they prepare for the championship. We wish Kilbeggan/St.Joseph's Alan Conlan a speedy recovery. Team: Shane Dalton, Oisin Kiernan, Odhran Gavigan, Killian Jackson, Dylan Franzoni, David Maloney, Max Ripley, Shane Doran, Jack Gannon, Peter Murphy, Cathal Elliffe, Conor O'Malley, Niall Claffey, Shane Corcoran, Jack Mulligan. Subs: Phillip Reynolds, Sean Macken, Ronan McLavin, Adam Cassidy, Andrew Dalton & Eoin Robinson.

Eoin Miller Memorial Tournament

The countdown is on and all the preparations taking place will hopefully pay off with a great day in store on Saturday as we hold this tournament in honour of Eoin and officially dedicate our new facilities in his memory. Eoin's son Matthew made the draw for the groups last Friday evening and we're sure to have an exciting set of games on Saturday, starting from midday. Following the group games, we will have the blessing and official dedication of the facilities. This is expected to take place around 14:30. The semi-finals, final and presentation of the Eoin Miller Memorial Trophy will follow this. There will be food and refreshments served throughout the day. With a lot of work carried out and more happening this week, we're sure that the place will look splendid on the day, hopefully we will get the weather to match it. We would love if you can spare the time to drop in on Saturday afternoon to share this special occasion with us and Eoin's family.

U16 Football League

Our U16 footballers are out in league action on Tuesday evening against Millmore Gaels. This game takes place in Ballymore at 19:30.

U12 Football Finals Day

Our U12 team play Delvin on Tuesday 19th June at 7pm in Cusack Park. This is normally the first time most players get the opportunity to play in our county grounds and is always a well run and hugely enjoyable experience for all.

U10 Football Blitz

Our U10 footballers were busy again when they played in another blitz in Drumraney last Tuesday evening. Teams from Maryland/Tang, Milltownpass, Caulry, Garrycastle and ourselves all enjoyed a great evenings football. Thanks to Maryland/Tang for hosting the blitz.

Welcome Home

We want to send warm wishes and a céad míle fáilte to Cathal Tynan and Áine Durkan who have both returned from shores afar in recent times. Cathal has made his return known immediately with his return to football with the club!

Tidy Towns

Many of you will have noticed some of the great work carried out around the village by the Tidy Towns group in recent times with new chairperson, Bridget O'Brien, to the fore. There is plenty of colour on display and some lovely touchs, take a look at the seat on the Raheenmore road for example! The judges will be about soon and hopefully they too will recognise the efforts. Well done to Bridget and the team.
