St Josephs club notes

December 04, 2017

Scór na nÓg Final:

St Josephs were represented in the County Scór na nÓg final at Ballymore on Sunday 3rd December in just one event namely the Set Dancing competition. It is a discipline which our club has done quite well with in recent years and hopes were high that the club could regain a title last held three years ago. The dancers who were well drilled by Thomas Pettit, danced the Caledonian Set and can have little complaints about their performance. However, it was not to be on the night as The Downs who are always the team to beat were declared winners in a tight contest. The girls did pick up the Sarah Bardon Award for Girls set dancing which was presented to Westmeath Scór in memory of 13 year old Sarah who sadly passed away in March this year. It is a great honour to be the first recipients of this award and a fitting tribute to Sarah.

Best wishes to all the Westmeath Winners next weekend in Birr.

Lotto €7000

Our most recent draw was held on Wednesday 29th November in The Beech Tree Streamstown for a Jackpot of €6900. The numbers drawn were 10,21,22 and 24 and there was no Jackpot winner. Michael Connell was the match three winner of €100 and our next draw is due to be held in Ryans on Sunday 10th December for a €7000 Jackpot.

Big Draw moved to next Weekend:

Our Big Draw which was due to be held on Saturday 2nd December was postponed due to a local bereavement and will now be held next weekend. The draw is likely to be on Friday 8th December but this will be confirmed over the next couple of days. The take up of tickets has been fantastic and as of Saturday evening last, the amount of unsold tickets was less than 10 which is an amazing show of support for our club.

In next weeks notes, we will be delighted to announce our winners so if you haven't a ticket at this stage, then move quickly as there is very limited availability at this stage.
