Scór Na nÓg
The first semi final took place in Delvin last Sunday afternoon and Ballinagore were represented in four competitions. In the Solo Singing Jemma Seery gave a great rendition of 'Craigie Hills'. Detailing 'The Wake' by Seamus O'Rourke in the Recitation competition was Shane King. In the Instrumental Music playing two lovely tunes - 'The Connaught Mans Rambles' and 'The Merry Blacksmith' were Aishling Daly, Emma O'Brien, Ellen Daly, Anne Reynolds and Sean Macken and Rose Macken. In the Ballad Group singing 'Trasna Na dTonnta' and 'Red Is The Rose' were Aishling Daly, Jemma Seery, Mary Reynolds, Niall Claffey and Emer Claffey. All four acts gave great entertainment on the day and they have all qualified for the county final which will take place on Sunday 3rd December in Ballymore Community Cetre at 3pm. Well done to all involved and keep up the good work.

Rounders Inter Provincial Championship
Ballinagore were due to host the resurrection of this competition on October 15th but a change of venue was required for logistical purposes. Leinster and Munster eventually battled it out in the final which was played at The Heath, Portlaiose on the above date. The format for the final was a best of three, five innings matches and Leinster opened their account with a fine 14-3 win in the first game. It was nip and tuck in the second as Munster began to find their rhythm following a long absence from the game and after three innings Leinster led by a single run, 8-7. Munster managed one more score before the finish while Leinster added five runs to their tally to take the second game and the title by 13 runs to 8. There were six clubs represented on the Leinster squad and Ballinagore had five players involved including David Langan, Colette Claffey, Aisling Heraty, Enda Claffey and Shane Heraty. It is a great honour to represent your Province in any competition and the Ballinagore club would like to congratulate all involved in organising this great event and to thank The Heath Rounders for their hospitality on the day.

Well Done Multy & Louis

We want to send our heartiest congratulations to Multyfarnham GAA club and especially their manager, Louis Ennis, following their brilliant success in winning the Leinster Junior Football Championship in style last Saturday. Louis was full back on our side who became the first Westmeath club to win the trophy back in 2005 and he no doubt called on this experience as he prepared his charges for their well earned win over Erin Rovers of Offaly.
