Walsh, Davy

March 31, 2006
The late Davy Walsh Davy Walsh passed away, aged 81 years, was a long time member of the Kill GAA club. He served for many years on the committee and represented the club on numerous occasions as a match official for championship and tournament games. He was an outstanding umpire, prompt and decisive, as well as fair in his judgement. He was a great supporter of the Waterford hurling team and in his early days together with his friends and neighbours cycled to places as far away as Cork and Thurles to Munster championship games. That was during the war years with no cars on the road and petrol could not be got. Davy was present in Thurles last summer for the Cork and Waterford Munster semi-final and followed the fortunes of the Deise lads to the very end. The Kill GAA club wish to express its deepest sympathy to all his family and friends. Ar dheis De go raibh a anim. Courtesy of the Waterford Star & News 31 March 2006
