Noel Connors has emerged as a doubt for Waterford's All-Ireland SHC semi-final against Kilkenny on August 9 after suffering a dead leg in yesterday's win over Dublin.

The experienced corner back was forced to retired in the 31st minute of the Deise's 2-21 to 1-19 victory over Ger Cunningham's side at Semple Stadium, with manager Derek McGrath confirming that he had sustained "a very bad dead leg".

"He'll do some recovery now in the Horse & Jockey (in Co. Tipperary) and our physio team will assess him as the evening goes on, but it doesn't look good at this stage. It might take three or four days to fully assess it," McGrath added.

The De La Salle clubman was looking forward to the challenge of taking on the All-Ireland champions.

"It is great to look forward to for the people of Waterford, a semi-final against Kilkenny, great for the people in the city and around that area, there will be a bit of banter in the coming weeks.

"We can learn a lot from Kilkenny and their whole approach, the absolute savagery and raveous nature when it comes to winning and their humility when they win."
