Waterford ace Austin Gleeson hopes history won't repeat itself when they take on Cork in the Munster U-21 HC quarter-final tonight at Pairc Ui Rinn (7.30).

Gleeson and the Deise missed out on a final appearance 12 months ago when losing out to the Rebels at the semi-final stage, and speaking to The Irish Daily Star, the Mount Sion ace warned: "The talent is there but we have click.

"Last year around Waterford, evening was saying 'aw we're playing Cork in Walsh Park' and Cork were massive underdogs coming and most of the players thought we had to turn up, and they ripped into us from the start and tore us apart for the whole game.

"Alan Cadogan scored with nearly every ball he got and Anthony Spillane was dominating as well.

"We didn't know what to do, we were shellshocked and couldn't recover in time. We know that just because we have that many players on the senior panel, it means nothing.

"They're training together the whole time and we face a massive battle in Pairc Ui Rinn."
