Lenihan seeks progress

April 15, 2015

Waterford minor football manager Tim Lenihan is hoping to see his side make further progress in 2015.

For the past two years, the Decies have reached the Munster MFC semi-final only to lose out at the penultimate stage on both occasions.

Lenihan, who was involved in both campaigns as strength and conditioning coach and is now in his first year as manager, wants to see that progression go to the next step.

Waterford face Tipperary tonight (Wednesday) and despite going into the game as underdogs, Lenihan is confident that his side can progress.

"We seem to have consolidated in the last few years," Lenihan told the Waterford News & Star. "Hopefully, there are no more big beatings for our minor teams.

"We will just try to consolidate and get a nice panel of players together. From my own point of view, I hope we can raise the profile of minor football and let fellas know that it's ok to play football rather than just hurling."
