Cappoquin coach Fintan O'Connor believes that once the players started believing in themselves, their luck changed.

O'Connor came in to train the side this year and he admitted to the Waterford News & Star that giving the players the confidence to believe that they could achieve their goals was his first task.

Now the Waterford champions are preparing for the Munster club IHC final against Limerick side Bruff and O'Connor is confident that they can lift the provincial title.

"Like every team that have been close or knocking at the door, confidence is a huge thing. To get them to believe that they were good enough was the big thing.

"When I saw them playing, I always thought that they were good enough. It was just getting them to believe in themselves."
