Kirwan, Patrick 'Podger'

February 19, 2013
There was great sadness in the club when we learned of the sad and untimely passing of Patrick 'Podger' Kirwan. Podger played formally Mollerans teams during the 70s. Known for his no nonsense type of playing. He was full back on the Mollerans Junior football team that was defeated by Tallow in the 1975 County final having beaten John Mitchels in the eastern final.

When he retired from playing he continued to keep a close eye on the clubs progress. He was a regular at the clubs underage games especially when his very promising grandson Killian was involved. Apart from everything else he was a genuinely nice fella and will be sadly missed by all who knew him. To his wife Maria his children Shirley, Ciara, Patrick his extended family and his many friends we offer our sincere sympathy. We also offer our sympathies to the Keane and O'Riordan families on there recent bereavement.
