Thomas McCurtains GAA Club Notes

October 02, 2017

Hard luck to the Hurlers who came out on the wrong side of the scoreline on Sunday in the Intermediate Championship Final. Played at a frantic pace throughout it was a tight affair until Pearses got a run on the McCurtains defence and opened up a seven point gap in the last 10 minutes of the first half. The lads from East London came out all guns blazing in the second half and looked to stage a comeback scoring the first two points. However it wasn't to be as a Pearses goal and a red card for McCurtains in the space of two minutes left the lads wth too much to do in the final 20 minutes.

THOMAS MCCURTAINS: S. O'Donohoe; J. O'Donohoe, B. Ryan, S. Smyth; L. O'Brien, K. Dowling, G. Long; E. Breen (0-1), D. Corrigan; M. O'Leary, R. Carson, A. Carson; J. Coulson, J. McGuire (0-1), M. Russell (0-9, 8 frees & 1 '65).
SUBS: E. Caldwell for Smyth & S. Kelly for McGuire.

The Ladies were also unlucky to lose out to Fr. Murphys in their last League game of the season. A huge thanks to the effort both the management and players put in over the course of the year.

Next weekend all roads lead to Greenford for McCurtains. On Saturday the Footballers will play Cu Chulainns in the Junior/Inter Football Play-Off to qualify for the British Provincial Championship. Then on Sunday the Hurlers are out in action against Brothers Pearse again, this time in the League final. All support is welcome.
