London senior hurling championship

Without trying to poke at Pearses but it is great as a neutral to see Cuchalainns staying up. Over the past few years any team that went up was hammered out the gate at senior and went back down inter staight away which is not good at all for either inter or senior!

Also the winners of the inter semi this weekend (which is before the senior final in ruislip) will go senior since Gabriels B bet Thomas Mac Curtains last weekend... Mac Curtains were favourites from day 1 to win it all out so it was a huge shock, massive credit to the Gabriels B team.

Congratulations to Emmetts. Well deserved win - certainly looked like the hungrier team yesterday.

Was at the game at the weekend and the game was over after 20 mins. The Emmetts came out the traps at 100 miles an hour and the Gabriels didnt know what hit them. The game was over after 20 mins as the Emmetts had sailed into a 10 point lead which the Gabriels were always going to find at hard to come back from.Confused though as to why the Gabriels left one pf there best forwards on the line (Gaffney) and only brought him on after 20 mins.Strange one. Emmetts were by far a way better team on the day as most people seemed to think anyway..Gabriels were very poor i thought and looked like a team who had no clue what they were doing or had no tactics so to speak.

If Abbeyknockmoy come through the Connacht Championship which they should they will be hard bet. Johnny Kelly of Portumna training them, won the All Irl intermediate with Galway this year, helped Coolderry beat St.Rynaghs in the Offaly final last weekend and what he won with Portumna as manager says enough! A contender for the Galway Manager if Cunningham goes. Emmets will need to improve if they are to progress

Hard to know how it will go with the Emmetts. They're not a bad team as it goes and clearly the best in London but better teams have come out of london and got nowhere so it will be hard to assess. However the galway crowd only beat the Roscommon lads by a goal so it should be tight enough..
