Thomas McCurtains GAA Club Notes

September 15, 2017

Congratulations to the Mens footballers who had a superb win over Éire Óg in the championship Semi Final. A great team performance throughout saw the Macs come from a point behind at half time to win by a point. They will play the Final against Dulwich Harps in Ruislip on Sunday 24th September.

This weekend our Hurlers will play Fulham Irish in the Intermediate Championship Semi Final. We wish Brian Ryan and the whole team the best of luck.

There is a long history between our club and Dromina in County Cork. Margaret O'Keeffe (nee O'Callaghan) is part of that. Two of her brothers and her nephew all played for the team over many years and her brother in law Martin Joyce was on the 1987 Senior Hurling Championship winning team.

Please sponsor current club members Seánie and Hannah O'Regan who will be making the climb. Margaret was very special to them and is sorely missed.

Margaret fought a very hard battle against a vicious auto immune disease and many hearts were broken when she lost that battle on 11th October 2016 aged only 49. Her husband Seán and son Jack are dedicated to her memory and wish to acknowledge the efforts made by the 3 hospitals that cared for her. This is one of many fundraising events taking place.

Thank you very much for your support.
