Upcoming Fixture: 

Harlesden Harps will begin their VGC Services Intermediate Championship campaign when they take on old rivals St Joesph's in their re-fixed encounter. After playing each other quite a bit already this season this match will be the true test of where the team can go for 2017, so all hands to the pump are needed. The game will take place on Saturday, 12th August at 5:00pm at Greenford, pitch one, London, UB6 0NZ. As usual, make sure you check public transport is in use and for any likely traffic delays, etc and ensure everyone is at the venue nice and early for a proper preparation for the game.

 

Previous Matches: 

Harlesden Harps added the first silverware of the season when they overcame St Brendan's recently in the final of the Shiel Cup. Getting their first run-out at Ruislip, Harps began the game on the front foot and built up a lead they never looked like relinquishing. Some hard running from the likes of Danny Somers, Anthony Donelan and Peter Rafferty and excellent shooting from Padraig McGoldrick in particular helped the Harps retain the trophy on a scoreline of Harps 0-13 St Brendan's 0-06. Let's now carry this good form on into the championship.

 

Training: 

Training continues this week taking place on Tuesday and Thursday at 7:45pm in The Shamrock Club, 307A Horn Lane, Acton, W3 0BP (nearest tube station: North Acton on the Central Line). Any new players wishing to "play a bit a ball" are very welcome to come along to this well-run club. If needed we can offer good jobs, along with accommodation and a social life to our members. Transport to and from training and pick up from local stations can also be arranged.
