Harlesden Harps club notes

July 20, 2016

Next Matches:

Harlesden Harps senior team begin their VGC Intermediate Championship this Saturday 23rd July at 6:00pm against St Anthonys. The game takes place at Greenford (pitch one), London, (UB6 0NZ). Let's hope the lads put in a big performance and get off to a winning start in the competition.

As usual, check public transport is in use and for any likely traffic delays, etc and make sure everyone is at the venue nice and early for a proper preparation for the game.

Previous Matches:

Harlesden Harps senior team played Moindearg in the Shield Cup recently in Wormwood Scrubs. Some excellent scoring and play throughout from the men in green and white as they comfortably progressed to the next round on a scoreline of 2-15 - 0-05, Mossie O Donovan and Darren Lynch getting the majors.

They played their second match in a week three days later in Round 6 of the AIB Division 2 league. They took on a determined Neasden Gaels outfit who got on top of the Harps early on and never let their lead slip. Perhaps the short rest period proved too much for the Harps who will hopefully be more focused for the first round of the Championship this coming Saturday (see above).

Homegrown Championship:

Our homegrown team take to the field in Greenford, pitch one, in the semi-final of this championship next Tuesday, 26th July at 7:15pm. They will play the home team, Tír Chonaill Gaels, with extra time being played if necessary. Let's hope the lads can put in a big performance and make the final, with support for the team encouraged.

Shamrock Club, Acton:

There is a field day in aid of Greenford Celtic at the Shamrock Club, Horn Lane, Acton (our training venue) this coming Saturday, 23rd July at 10:30. Please show your support to our generous hosts and come along for some entertainment and sunshine!
