New Recruits at Rugby Gaels:
New players are always welcome at the Rugby Gaels; both experienced players or those with a keen interest in getting involved with a Gaelic Football Club.
If you live in Rugby or the wider Warwickshire area, or you are planning to move in the near future, and wish to join a friendly GAA club focused on growing a community of GAA enthusiasts, then the Rugby Gaels is a perfect fit.
We are a relatively new club that was established in 1999, with members from all 4 corners of Ireland: Cork, Roscommon, Down, Wexford, Dublin & Monaghan to name a few. We also have a number of British born players who have taken to Gaelic Football with great success.
Our members work daily in a wide range of professions from engineers, ground workers, bricklayers, carpenters to scaffolders; which are all experiencing high volumes of work with numerous job opportunities for new employees at present.
The Rugby Gaels Club boasts an intermediate Gaelic Football Men's team competing in Division 3 of the Warwickshire League. For the first time last year we competed additionally at U21 Level with some very positive results, and hope to continue with more success at this Level in 2015.
In addition to Gaelic Football, the Rugby Gaels prides themselves on hosting an active social scene, with many events focused on team building and promoting the club across the Rugby area throughout the year. Some highlights include an annual award and presentation night, a club dinner dance, race nights, summer BBQ's, a charity football 'Ireland Vs England' game and trips to Rugby Union games. All of this, combined with playing Gaelic Football, helps to work towards the club's goal in the coming years to promote Irish values and interests into a vibrant community in Warwickshire.
