Fullen Gaels Update

April 10, 2014
On Friday night, 4th April we held our 3rd Annual Dinner Dance in St Kentigerns. It was a great night and a brilliant opportunity to celebrate both the Hurling and Camogie team's successes over the past year. Chairman James O'Shaughnessy hosted the night, Fr Ahern sent his apologies and we enjoyed speeches from Raemonn McEntee on behalf of the Camogie team and Stan Murray-Hession on behalf of the Hurling team. Donnie Morrisey delivered an entertaining speech and some motivation for the upcoming season!

We raised our glasses to the lads who finished as All-Ireland JHC Runners-up and have progressed to Semi-Finalists this year. Whilst the ladies were Senior Championship and League Runners-up last year and have already gained their first piece of silverware this year; winning the shield in the Birmingham 9's tournament in March. On the night Shane Lawless and Helen O'Mahony were awarded players of the year as chosen by their fellow team members, whilst Greg Jacob and Karen O'Leary were awarded players of the year as chosen by their respective coaches.

The night was also a great opportunity to thank our many sponsors and supporters who do so much for the club behind the scenes. Special thanks were awarded to Raemonn McEntee, Alan Morrisey, Stan Murray-Hession, Scott Flitcroft, Benny Dillon, Donnie Morrisey, Billy, Martin and Tom McKenna. Though there are many more, without whom we wouldn't have the great club we have today.

Thanks to everybody involved in organising the night and to everybody else for digging deep to help raise the much needed funds to keep our club going.
