Scotland captain Stuart Macdonald expects a tough challenge from Ireland in Saturday’s international Shinty / Hurling clash.

The Scots are defending the title they’ve won in each of the past four years and Lovat goalkeeper Macdonald – who was presented with the Donald Campbell Memorial kilt pin to mark his selection as captain – is looking forward to the challenge:

“It’s a tremendous honour to be selected in the squad of 20, and even more so to be chosen as captain,” he told The Inverness Courier. “It will be a stern test over in Ireland, of that we are in no doubt.

“It is an extremely tough place to go but I am confident in the group of boys we have here. To be presented with the Donald Campbell Memorial kilt pin is an honour that will stay with me for many years.”
