Cavan 1.13 v Tyrone 0.12

Well, well what happened to the McKenna Cup holders of recent years as they were well conquered by a poor Cavan side, Could this be an omen for what's to come in 2017 for the redhanders??

I'll be keeping in touch from down under.

The Red Hands' five-year, 25-game winning run in the McKenna Cup was ended in Breffni Park on Sunday and experienced defender McNabb concedes that the Ulster champions have ground to make up to get back on course

Hi guys things not starting well but let's hope that it was a blip and for the team to get back on course. The absence of McAlliskey will not help but I think Mattie as captain has to show leadership. Let's hope they will continue to retain the McKenna cup.

Saturday 14th Jan 2017
Tyrone(---)v(---)Ulster University
Section C Round 2
Healy Park, Omagh 7:00 PM
Referee: Paul Faloon

Tyrone should be able to take this one but given UUJ's defeat of Donegal it may not be that easy.

Agree this bitter little person has little to do but gloat when Tyrone lose and even gloat when they win with inaccurate info - very embarrassing again for a so called Fermanagh Gael - on another note good to see Mattie do well - think he will do well with Cavan - they are a good team.

How long will Connor McAliskey be out for? On another issue I heard the Mickey Harte has conformed on a radio Ulster interview that he intends to stay as long as the players want him as manager. Is this good news for the team or what?

Unfortunately Connor will most likely be out for all of 2017. Just Harte being Harte the players don't appoint the manager that will be done as per always by County Board at the end of the season.

My Tyrone knowledge wouldn't be too accurate going back a few years but isn't McGleenan an ex Tyrone player?

I see some changes in the Tyrone team for tomorrow's clash with the Jordi's boys. The team named includes Mickey O'Neill in goals; Padraig Hampsey, Justin McMahon and Cathal McCarron as full backs; Ronan McNabb, Tiernan McCann and Jonathan Monroe half backs; Colm Cavanagh and Padraig McNulty at centre field; Peter Harte, Niall Sludden and Cahir McCullagh as half forwards; Lee Brennan, Niall McKenna and Ronan McHugh as full forwards.

McKenna Cup round three
Tyrone 2-23 v Donegal 0-6
Tyrone should have a handy semi final with Fermanagh while Derry take on Monaghan with both fixtures set for this coming sunday. I think we are on track for retaining the McKenna once again. No doubt the Irvinestown-aussie exile will be keeping a close eye on the result.

That exile will probably be texting about your counties defeat to Donegal last night. Think it will be Monaghan Tyrone final - I've no idea how Cavan missed out when they were in such a strong position - apparently a Donegal and a Tyrone man were brought on for students who caused all sorts of havoc against the blues.
