Last Saturday (20th) our U10 boys squad travelled to Augher and enjoyed a great mornings football at their blitz. We played games against the hosts Augher, Pomeroy and Kildress. Well done to all the lads for a great display with some excellent skills on show. Thanks to Augher for a well organised blitz and great hospitality. Football for U8 and U10 boys continues on Thursday night 7 pm > 8 pm.

Training for our U13 boys starts on Monday evening from 7 > 8pm. Competition for these boys starts in September so important all eligible players attend this training.

Our U16 girls continue training on Wednesday at 630 pm and they play Carrickmore this Saturday (27th) at home at 2pm.

The U16 lads had home advantage against Rock on Tuesday 16th August . Killeeshil had a few changes to make with some lads away on holidays and one at home working on his "TAN". Daniel Miller was a bit under the weather so he covered for Michael Conlon in goals, also in was Christopher Staunton in defence and the O'Neill brothers, Ronan and Paul came into the forward line. Micheal O'Neill partnered Matthew McCusker in midfield. First half goals from Tomas Hoy and Matthew McCusker helped us to lead at half time.  Half time score Killeeshil 2-4 Rock 0-5. During the 2nd half all our players worked hard as a unit and started winning some dirty ball in the half back line, and created scoring opportunities which led to points from Cormac Donaghy, Louis Conlon, Niall Loughran, Tomas Hoy and Michael O'Neill. Final score Killeeshil 2-14 Rock 0-9. Our U16 lads were also at home against Galbally on a wet and windy Friday (19thAugust) night, and with some lads still on holiday and others having injuries, changes were necessary. We started with Michael Conlon back in goals and Matthew McCusker and Micheal O'Neill in the middle of the park. For the second game in a row the O'Neill brothers, Ronan and Paul started up front and Christopher Staunton has made corner back his home. Galbally got the first score of the game. Killeeshil then got off the mark when Paul O'Neill was fouled after receiving the ball from Cormac Mc Elvogue allowing Cormac Donaghy to slot over the free. Galbally got the next three points before Cormac Donaghy received a break down from Matthew McCusker and his first time ball found Tomas Hoy, who made space and calmly finished to the net, sending the keeper the wrong way. Galbally then scored a goal. Louis Conlon then struck a point for us before Galbally got the next two points despite the intense pressure of Cormac Skeffington, Tiernan Kelly and Christopher Staunton. Further points followed from Cormac Donaghy and Tomas Hoy. Half time score Killeeshil 1-4 Galbally 1-7. During the second half Killeeshil started to take control of the midfield sector and with the strong wind on our backs, we started to claw back the deficit, through points from Tomas Hoy and a goal from Ronan O'Neill. A great tackle from Tiernan Kelly led to a point from Niall Loughran. Christopher Staunton was working very hard and broke down any Galbally attack. Two more points followed from Tomas Hoy before Cormac Donaghy calmly finished to the net after lovely build-up play. Final score Killeeshil 3-11 Galbally 3-07. These lads then travelled to O'Neill Park on Monday (22nd August) to face Dungannon. After a very competive first half, the sides went in level at half time, Dungannon 2-6 Killeesil 0-12. During the 2nd half we upped the tempo and goals from Niall Loughran and Jason Doyle saw us emerge as winners on a final scoreline, Killeeshil 2-19 Dungannon 2-10.  The lads now travel to Eglish on Thursday (25th) night for their next league game at 7.15pm and then face Clonoe on Monday(29th) night at 7.15pm.

Our understrength men's senior team made the short trip to Eglish on Saturday (20th) evening to play Brocagh in the first round of the Junior Championship. After a disappointing performance we were defeated. Reserve and senior training continues this week on Tuesday at 7.30pm and Thursday at 7.30pm as we prepare for our next fixture, away to Newtownstewart this Sunday (28th). Reserve game at 2.15pm and senior game at3.45pm. All support is much appreciated.

Training continues on Monday, Thursday and Sunday at the normal times for our minor and senior girls. Our senior ladies are in the county final on the 10th of September where we will face St Macartans. So everyone put the date in your diary as this is the first team ever from our club to reach a senior county final. Please support the fundraiser the girls are currently running by guessing the time of the first goal in the All Ireland Football Final - £2 each guess or 3 guesses = £5.

Commiserations to the Tyrone ladies senior team, particularly our own girls on the panel Grainne Rafferty, Emma Mulgrew and Zoe Loughran  as they bowed out of the All-Ireland Intermediate series at the hands of Clare in Mullingar on Saturday the 20th of August.

Please plan in your diaries, the weekend of Friday the 7th of October and Sunday the 9th of October promises to be a big one for Killeeshil GFC. There will be a double celebration in The Ryandale, Moy on the Friday night with the Club in operation for 60 years and 30 years from they won their first Intermediate Championship title. Then on the Sunday at the pitch, we will have the official opening of our new Stand, more information in the coming weeks.
